How are virtual tours made?

We recommend starting by meeting at your location, which will allow us to gain insight into your business and understand what you would like to achieve. And, of course, to get a real tour of your space!

Once we’ve taken a look around (and deciphered our notes and scribbles!), we’ll send over a detailed proposal with a project outline, quote and timeline for your Google Maps Virtual Tour.

If you like what you see, we can schedule your tour right away!

Ahead of your shoot, we’ll send a guide with information on what to expect on the day, including things to prepare, so that we can achieve the best result for your tour.

We’ll arrive on the dot, capturing your tour with our 360 or 3D cameras, and wrap up without leaving a trace.

Your panoramic photographs will be edited to remove tripods and smooth pinch points, before being uploaded into our virtual tour software, where we’ll create the pathways between steps and build any Virtual Tour Hotspots.

Lastly, we’ll share a preview of your tour to walkthrough, make any last adjustments, then we’ll publish it to your Google Business Profile.

FAQs

Street-smart answers for your Google tour

Having created over 200 tours, we’ve been asked nearly every question imaginable. Here’s some of our favourites!

  • Yes. To have your virtual tour appear on Google Maps (also known as a Street View tour), you will require a Google Business Profile.

Your Google Business Profile will allow you to manage your business’s online presence in search and maps, including business details, opening times, services, photos, posts, and it can be used to connect your Google Maps Virtual Tour.

If you’re business is part of a shared office space or within another building, it may be possible to host your tour as part of their profile, which you can still link to and embed on your website.

  • Creating a virtual tour of your business is a quick and efficient process.

Most Google 360 tours can be captured in just a few hours, depending on the size and complexity of your space.

After the on-site shoot, we edit your panoramic images to remove tripods and smooth over any pinch points. These are then uploaded into our virtual tour software, where we map out the pathways of your tour, and build in any Tour Hotspots.

Once everything is ready, we share a preview, and once you give us the green light, we then publish your tour directly to your Google Business Profile.

In most cases, your Google Maps tour will be live and visible within 2 to 4 days. We can also provide guidance to ensure your Google Business Profile is properly optimised so your new virtual tour performs well in search results.

  • The price for your tour will depend on the overall size of your space and the steps required to capture it, followed by any Tour Hotspots you may like to feature.

As a general guide, prices start at £300, which will allow the capturing of a space of approximately 16m2, providing around nine interior high-definition panoramic photos of your space and one exterior shot.

We offer clear, upfront pricing with no hidden fees, and we’ll work with you to find a package that fits your budget.

If you’d like to create something really unique to your business, we’re best having a chat! Not only can we use our creativity to make the most our of your space and show off your business, but we may manage what you’re thinking about in fewer shots that you imagined.

  • No, and yes! Google does not allow for added layers of interactive elements within its Google Maps and Street View platform. However, we can include this feature in your embedded version for your website.

We call them Tour Hotspots, and they really do help to enhance a tour, things like:

    • Branding
    • Navigation menu
    • Information pop-ups
    • Video introductions
    • Product ‘buy now’ highlights
    • Newsletter sign ups
    • And much, much more!
  • For individuals with mobility issues, health concerns, or financial constraints, virtual tours open up a world of opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.

For some, a Google Maps Virtual Tour might simply provide some comfort by being able to see inside a business before they visit, removing anxiety, helping them plan their day and overall enjoy better experience.

These immersive experiences also enable everyone to explore far-flung destinations, iconic landmarks, and cultural treasures, without the need for physical travel. This inclusivity not only broadens horizons but also fosters a sense of connection and understanding among people from different backgrounds and cultures.

Google Maps & Street View is also designed and developed to be accessible to users through modern browsers and technologies. Read more in Google’s article, Accessibility in Google Maps.

  • That one is over to us! As part of our process when planning and creating your tour, we’ll ask for your Google Business Profile ID.

Once you’ve finished reviewing the preview of your tour and are happy to push the button and launch it, we’ll publish the tour to your Google Business Profile on your behalf.

Adding a virtual tour usually takes around 24-48 hours for all panoramic orbs and pathways to be fully uploaded and connected. We’ll let you know once all imagery is online and appearing on your profile and in results on the search engine.

  • Yes! We have the camera equipment and publishing software allowing us to capture, create and update the blue line virtual tours you see anywhere around Google Street View.

So, whether you’re looking to just update the Google Street View that runs alongside your business listing, or publish something a little more creative and eye-catching in your marketing, our team can help!
